Once you taste the sweetness of God, nothing else compares. That’s what I’m learning most, I think. I’ve tasted what this world has to offer, and I don’t want it. I really don’t. It doesn’t fill me up like Jesus does. It just doesn’t satisfy.

Reflections on being busy

Being busy is not an excuse to stop being part of life. Work never really stops. There will never really be time for anything if you limit yourself like that. 

Instead, having a hectic work load helps you to find your priorities. Take these priorities and carve out times to reach them. Meet those friends, have that family dinner, take that outing you’ve always hoped to do - you just have to have less frequency of each activity. 

Just don’t end up pushing everything aside because in the end, you get through years of work unhappy. On top of that you look back and realise how many relationships and passions you left behind when you quit living. 

Irony is, you were working so you could have a better life.

In the end, living the life is to experience the push and pull of work and relationships . It is in performing the juggling act that you find the joy of an enriched life.

Psalm119: 33-40

33 Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees,

that I may follow it to the end.

34 Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law

and obey it with all my heart.

35 Direct me in the path of your commands,

for there I find delight.

36 Turn my heart toward your statutes

and not toward selfish gain.

37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;

preserve my life according to your word.

38 Fulfill your promise to your servant,
